From a young age, art and science has been the heartbeat of my life. The threads of sewing, the strokes of drawing, and the washes of watercolor have woven themselves into my earliest memories, shaping my journey as an artist. Throughout my college years and beyond, I have immersed myself in a variety of mediums, each one offering a new lens through which to view the world. Watercolor painting, drawing, mosaics, and diverse quilting techniques have all played a role in my creative evolution. My artwork is always evolving.

In recent years, I have discovered a unique and harmonious blend of my passions through stitched art. Hand painted fabric and/or commercial fabric, definitely thread, beads, or handcrafted buttons may make it’s way into my work. This technique marries the fluidity of painting, the tactile satisfaction of sewing into a single art form. Each piece is a testament to my love for these disciplines, seamlessly intertwined to capture the essence of my inspirations.

My work is often sparked by the simple, yet profound moments of everyday life. A bluebird perched on my fence, a vibrant bouquet of flowers, a serene walk through nature, the delicate blooms in my garden, a sailboat gently rocking in a cove, or a poignant line from a Mary Oliver poem—all these scenes and sentiments find their way into my art. They serve as gentle reminders of the beauty and tranquility that surround us, often unnoticed.

Creating art is a meditative and calming process for me. It is my way of engaging with the world, of translating the serene and gentle moments I encounter into visual poetry. Each stitched painting is a labor of love, a patient and deliberate act that mirrors the calm and steady rhythm of nature itself.

Through my art, I hope to share a sense of peace and appreciation for the quiet wonders that fill our lives. My work invites viewers to pause, reflect, and find joy in the simplicity of the natural world. It is a celebration of the delicate and the enduring, stitched together with care and intention.
